As a descendant of King Henry VII, she had a claim to the English throne, and while this should have given her a sense of power, in actuality, it merely made her a tool for many of those around her. Arbella's attempts to find autonomy include fictitious lovers, an illegal marriage, defying two monarchs, and an ill-fated escape to France. However it ends, she will have the final word.
